PROJECT UPDATE ::: 9 Just dropping in to say I LOVE YOU ALL!

Holy heckarooo. The magnitude of what we did with this campaign really hit me this morning. I opened the kickstarter dashboard and saw that all our initial funds have been collected by Kickstarter...and I suddenly felt all teary. Right smack in the middle of The Huckleberry Cafe with my lavender rosemary latte by my side. Tears of gratitude flowed. I asked you all for your help and you showed up 1000%.  It feels so good--like electric waves of love flowing through my body from my head to my tippy toes.

Today, I'm working on the Backerkit post campaign survey, which helps me collect some of your info (like address) and product info (ie for those of you who order coasters and prints, that means which options you want etc...) This survey will also collect extra postage for add ons that may have happened, and for a few other products that didn't include shipping in the initial campaign. (For 90% of you shipping has already been collected.) 

PLUS this survey will give you one more opportunity to add on other goodies should you desire to purchase more BLOSSOM art love! 

I'll be leaving for vacay in ID, WA and maybe OR next week. Will be heading to the family farm for harvest and to help my mom get moved into her home. (We did some massive moving last week but theres more to be done!).  I may or may not drop another update before then but promise to keep in touch wiht lots of pretty flower love and updates. Until then--

Friends!!!!

THANKS to all 56 of YOU, who brought the BLOSSOM book to life! 

At 8:08 am today, Kickstarter said we reached 106% of our funding goal BUT in truth....I had one more lovely Canadian friend who contributed at the last minute and she elevated us to that magical 108% funding mark! WOOT WOOT!  I'm so over the moon about this project and ever so grateful to you all! THANK YOU again, from the bottom--to the top--of my heart.

So what's next for YOU -- me -- and the flowers?

- Kickstarter will be collecting funds that you pledged from the credit (or debit) card that you have on file with them.  Please be sure your payment method is  current so that your pledge doesn't bounce! If it does so, Kickstarter will retry again in 7 days, and if it still has not gone through, you will be dropped automatically from the campaign.  WE don't want to drop ANYONE so I'll be in touch if it looks like we need your help!  

- Once the pledges have been collected, Kickstarter will  then begin the process of payment to me. I'm told it takes about 2-3 weeks from the time the campaign ended for it to show up in my account. During this time, I'll be working with my designer to layout the book, and work on finalizing printer logistics.  Once I have the payment and new printing logistics,  I'll share and update with you about the book and reward delivery! 

- You will also be receiving a survey from backerkit in the next month or so. This helps me to validate your shipping address/details, and also give you an opportunity to add anything that you may have missed in the campaign as add-ons. In other words, if you wanna do a little more holiday shopping in July, you can add things to your order--like pretty flower beverage coasters, greeting cards or art prints!

Good evening, my Kickstarter BLOSSOM Community!

Holyyyyyyy Guacamole y'all! It’s time to celebrate! At precisely 10:10 am (no joke—that’s when the official email from Kickstarter arrived in my inbox),  we received word that we reached our first campaign goal AND BLOSSOM WILL BLOOM! You can’t seem me over here in Denver but I’m doing the Snoopy happy dance!

How does such a thing happen??? Only WITH YOU, my dear friends/family/clients and awesome human beings! I couldn’t have done this without you. Period. Full stop. 

Right now, I can see all of your beautiful faces—each and every one of you who pledged—in my mind's eye. And through the ethers, I am sending a deep, deep bow of gratitude, from the bottom (to the top) of my big heart, straight to yours! THANK YOU for believing in BLOSSOM, for helping me realize this dream, and for helping me bring more flower beauty and magic into this world. To say I'm over the moon is an understatement.

I also jokingly wrote that I would do a downward dog handstand, which I realize now is quite impossible. But have no fear. As always, I just put my creative hat on and improvised. May I please introduce to you, a hand stand downward dog.... (Again, no laughing pleassssse.)

Onward and upward, my friends. (Or should I say, “downward” to honor that new downward dog posture I just created!?)

Either way, when we reach the stretch goal--I promise to post another hand stand photo...but this one will say "We did it AGAIN!"

PROJECT UPDATE 5 ::: BLOSSOM Book Samples + Cosmic Musings

Hello BLOSSOM friends! 

The night before last, I was on my evening walk in my neighborhood. Movement is important to me so I usually try to spend time walking in nature everyday. It helps me feel more grounded, relaxed in my nervous system, and balanced. I had had one of those days where I found my mind trying to tell me all the things that I should be doing: working harder...hustling to find more backers...figuring out new business strategies....anything but taking it easy.  I was born and raised on a wheat farm in north Idaho so the currents of hard work run deep in my veins, like the Mississippi rushing to the Gulf of Mexico. 

It was dusk (also known as the golden hour in photography), and I was walking back home when I came upon a house for sale which had a yard FULL of rose bushes. I felt a subtle magnetism in my body toward one in particular, and I knew what that meant; it's time play. I pulled out my iphone and bravely followed the impulse and sneakily snapped a few pictures of the roses adorning the vacant house's front yard. I then continued on my merry way back home.  

Later that night before I went to bed, I looked at some of the images I had snapped. Here's a few beauties that I found—which will appear in BLOSSOM!!! (The book keeps getting bigger and bigger!) But first, a quick  

CAMPAIGN UPDATE

We have just under 5 days to raise $900 so that BLOSSOM can bloom! That's just 9 people with a pledge of $100 (for an autographed book!). Backers, if you wish to upgrade your pledge to that option you CAN (or any other level that you prefer). OR maybe you want to add one more book to share a copy with your BFF? There's also fun ADD ON options that you can add like flower beverage coasters. (My mom loves her set. She said she uses it every morning with her coffee!) 

Either way, friends, WE'RE SO CLOSE that I can taste it and I know that through this awesome community, BLOSSOM will happen!! 

OK, so onto the the real stars of the show and this message: 

Shooting these rose images was quick, short and sweet. I followed the energy of the moment, dropped in and rode it like a pro surfer rides a wave! It was all very effortless and ALL flowingness. (I realize that flowingness really isn't a word, but it should be!) One of the reasons that I'm publishing BLOSSOM is to remind us through these flowers, that we can all blossom in life—that it can be easy and magical, and we can turn to (seemingly insignificant) sources for help in finding our way back to our true being.

When I saw the first rose with the velvet petals and scattered pollen on them, it reminded me of a cosmic galaxy and the vastness held within me (and you of course too!) The second image reminded me of layers of love that are always around me; through my kids, clients, friends, loves, and nature too.  The third image reminded me that slow process of de-armouring the parts of myself that want to hold tight to the known patterns (like working really hard) but that this unfurling help me sink more deeply into the present moment where I can feel more nourished. All of these subtle messages, were a great medicine for me after a long day of my mind trying to tell me that I should be doing something different.
